The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project (TCRWP) is pleased to acknowledge three TC-affiliated New York City schools for their selection as 2017-18 Blackboard Award recipients.
The schools are:
● Brooklyn Urban Garden Charter School (BUGS): Executive Director & Co-Founder, Susan Tenner; Founding Principal, Linda Rosenbury
● East Side Elementary School (PS 267): Principal Medea McEvoy
● The Lower Lab School (PS 77): Principal Sandra G. Miller
In addition to the three schools receiving this honor, McEvoy was also chosen for a 2017-18 Principal of the Year, Excellence in Education Award.
Manhattan Media, parent company of the publication New York Family, created the Blackboard Awards to assist New York City parents to make informed choices about their child’s education, and to honor schools, principals, and teachers of excellence. New York Family is a bi-monthly lifestyle magazine focused on the interests, needs, and concerns of New York City parents.
Nominations for schools, principals, and teachers for the 2018-19 Blackboard were recently closed.
