The South Kingstown School Department has recently received the results from the PARCC state assessment from the Rhode Island Department of Education. We’re thrilled to report that all of our four elementary schools scored in the top 5% of all Rhode Island elementary schools in ELA, with one of them scoring the highest with 81.8% of the students proficient! Additionally, our middle schools ranked in the top 20% of the middle schools in RI! We believe that our partnership with the TCRWP, which began five years ago on the elementary level and subsequently extended to our middle schools, has had a significant positive impact on the literacy performance of our students! The instruction within this workshop model is squarely focused upon the Common Core Standards and presented in a manner that engages and challenges our students. We celebrate our amazing teachers, coaches, and principals for embracing this work and continually working to “outgrow” themselves!
