Daniela Anello, Head of School at DC Bilingual Public Charter School (DCB) in Washington DC, was featured on Nuestra Tele Noticias 24, during a segment called, Lideres (Leaders). DCB serves a predominantly high poverty, Latino community and has been awarded a Tier 1 ranking (the highest ranking awarded) by the DC Public Charter School Board. Anello attributes much of her success to her commitment to the school population, with whom she shares many common experiences, and also to the rigorous curriculum DCB provides. A graduate of the Teachers College Literacy Specialist Program, Anello worked closely with Lucy Calkins, who helped shape her ideas about school leadership and her vision for DCB.
